Having an eye catching and interesting business is great but without something equally impressive to advertise it with means no one will see how fantastic your business is. An intriguing business card will always entice someone into taking a closer look at your business. Something bold and colourful or simple and monochrome always seems to be a popular choice. I decided to go for the bright option (surprise surprise) and had a go at some water colour business cards. I didn’t have any water colours funnily enough so I used acrylic paints instead which (with enough water) did the job. I also decided to use cotton wool buds instead of paint brushes 1) because I couldn’t find any brushes and 2) I wanted thicker lines anyway. You will need:
-Cartridge Paper
-Water Colours (or acrylics)
-Paint Brushes or cotton wool buds
-Cup of water
To Start with, I put a bit of each paint onto a plate and added water to each.
When I applied the colour I started off with blue but I would suggest that you use the lightest colour.
When I put the cotton wool bud into the paint I used thicker paint with less water and then added the water on after so the colour would spread.
If you want to create a gradient effect, dip half of the paper into the water and then dab the edge of the paper with the cotton wool bud. The more paint, the stronger the gradient.
